About the Role:

Zero Hash is looking for an experienced Trust Officer to lead the administration and operation of a crypto asset trust company to be formed in South Dakota. This person will play a key role in formation of the trust company, oversight and administration, and setting and achieving key business goals in line with our vision and mission.

The ideal candidate is a senior leader with knowledge of the regulatory landscape for trust companies in South Dakota and beyond, experience in and excitement for the crypto industry, and the ability to transform vision into practical reality. The person in this role should be prepared to roll up their sleeves to do what needs to be done in addition to contributing to business strategy and the bigger picture.

Must be located in or willing to relocate to South Dakota.

Responsibilities:
Manage and execute on the process of forming a new trust company in South Dakota.
Administer the business of a trust company in South Dakota under local regulation.
Serve as liaison and representative to relevant regulators and business partners.
Work cross functionally with senior management and other teams across Zero Hash to complete complex, high stakes initiatives.
Turn big ideas into practical execution and get things done!

Requirements:
Minimum 10 years experience as a trust officer in South Dakota. Candidates with minimum 3 years experience in South Dakota and 7 years experience as trust officer in a comparable state will also be considered.
Familiarity with trust regulation at the state and federal level
Proven ability to communicate effectively with regulators and lawmakers
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities and stakeholders
Ability to manage and execute on complex, cross-functional projects
Strong decision-making skills – you know how to make a decision, document why you made that decision, and pivot/iterate quickly when things change
Humility – you are not afraid to ask questions and you don’t hesitate to recognize colleagues and give credit where credit is due

Preferred:
Experience in crypto, fintech or B2B2C tech services
Experience in a fast-paced technical environment
Familiarity with federal banking regulations such as FDIC, Federal Reserve, and OCC rules.
