The Opportunity
CryptoTrader.Tax’s mission is to enable seamless tax reporting for all crypto investors—no matter how complex their transaction history. To help achieve this, we are looking to bring on highly technical software engineer who is extremely familiar with DeFi protocols and public blockchains to create a brand new DeFi team.
You will have enormous responsibility in this role, as the need for DeFi tracking and capital gains tracking has exploded. The blockchain and DeFi integrations you will work on will enable hundreds of thousands of crypto traders and yield farmers to seamlessly import their transaction history.
You will be one of the very first hires for this new DeFi team and contributing to one of the most important pieces of infrastructure for the future of the cryptocurrency industry.

What You’ll Do
Consume raw transaction history data from DeFi protocols and public blockchains
Research and establish best practices to future-proof integrations:
Allow for easy extension points to support new protocols
Allow us to handle protocol specific updates / migrations
Create and improve data pipelines to normalize raw transaction data into our transaction model
Collaborate with our support team to improve integration reliability
Introduce tools and best practices to accelerate our development process
What You Need To Succeed
3+ years of experience working on professional blockchain project or relevant side projects
Understanding of data structures and problem solving approaches and ability to articulate trade offs
Strong understanding of edge case analysis and unit testing
Strong understanding of SOLID principles
Comfortable working with new technologies
Comfortable with tackling ambiguous problems and unblocking yourself from issues such as:
Working through poor documentation
Working through poorly structured transaction history files
Strong desire to mentor and assist other engineers
Strong verbal and written communication skills
